How to Reach Your Fundraising Goal
Let's make sure you have all the tools you need to be a fundraising pro! Our tips and tricks will make it easy to surpass your fundraising goals and claim your spot on the Leaderboard.
Create Your Fundraising Page
If you haven't already, get started by registering and creating your fundraising page. Your first step will be to choose if you would like to participate as part of a team, or if you'd prefer to fundraise individually. Then click on the action buttons and follow the steps to register.
Personalize Your Page
Here's your chance to tell the world why YOU support KYC! Your page is what your friends and family will see when you invite them to help you reach your fundraising goal. Update your photo and share your story about why you choose to Hustle for Health with KYC. You can even upload a video to highlight your enthusiasm! Your friends and family will be more inclined to give if you share with them why you choose to hustle for the health of our communities.
Be Your First Donor
Make a gift to your own page to get the fundraising ball rolling. By giving to your own page, you show others that you are 100% committed to your cause, and they should be too. Sometimes you just have to break the ice to encourage others to start giving!
Ask For Support
You might be surprised at the number of friends and family who are happy to give to support your goal - but you won't know until you ask! After you have created your fundraising page, make sure you reach out to friends and family to let them know why KYC is important to you and ask them to join you in your goal to raise money for a great cause. There are lots of ways for you to spread the word through your Participant Center. Your Participant Center is where you can take a variety of actions for your fundraising, including inviting others to donate, thanking them, and tracking your progress towards your goal.
Social Media
Social media is an excellent way to let many of your friends and family know that you're striving to reach your goal for the Hustle for Health. Share your page directly to your social media accounts from your Participant Center to easily direct your followers to give to your page.
You never know who might have been impacted by KYC’s mission and you could be surprised by a donation from someone you never would have thought to ask. Share your goal on social media often to ensure that you catch people who may be browsing at different times.
Send email messages to all of your contacts and keep track of your email history all in one place: your email center. There, you'll be able to enter and store your contacts for convenient messaging. Only you will be able to see the contact information that you enter, and your contact list will even be saved and ready to go for you for next year's 5K.
You will see that there are several pre-written messages available to you through your email center. Just click on the "Templates" drop-down to find messages that are ready to go. Feel free to personalize your messages, or use what's already there. Either way, you'll be starting the conversation about why they should give. When they do decide to donate to your page, you can even send a thank you message right from your email center.
Don't Forget to Say Thank You!
Be sure to say thank you to the friends and family who give to your page! A thank you goes a long way to making your generous contacts feel appreciated. Send them a thank you email through your email center, or thank them on social media. (Pro tip: shout out your friends and family who donated to you on social media to thank them publically, and share the link to your page in case more of your followers decide that they would like to give, too!)
Keep an Eye on Your Progress (and the Prizes!)
Check your fundraising page to see how you're tracking towards your goal. If you would like to see your thermometer keep climbing, keep sharing your page and inviting others to support you!

Are you fundraising as part of a team? Here are some extra tips that can help your team reach your goal.
Hold a Mini Fundraiser
Get creative and encourage your team's members to each participate in your mini fundraiser! The money you raise can be divided and added to each team member's pages, or your Team Captain can enter the total you raise as a single gift to your team overall. There are lots of ways to work together and make the most of your team membership!
Encourage Each Other
We're all working to raise money to support the health of our communities. Cheer each other on as you hustle towards your individual and team goals!
